Carl A. Smith, age 82, of Laurel, MD, died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD.
Mr. Smith was employed by National Security Agency.
Carl was born on March 26, 1933 in China Grove, NC. He was the son of the late Gipson Smith and the late Deliah Smith. After attending school in China Grove Carl spent three years in the United States Army (1953-1956) stationed in Arlington, VA. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Carl went to work for the National Security Agency. He retired from NSA in October of 1978.
He is survived by his wife, Thelma (nee Todd) Smith who he married in 1957.
Arrangements are being handled by Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD where the family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Friday, July 31, 2015. Interment will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Laurel, MD
