Carolyn R. Palazzo

On Sunday, May 10, 2015, Carolyn Ruth Palazzo beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away.  Carolyn was born on October 5, 1934 in Springfield, Illinois to the late Helen and Fred Myers. She graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, Illinois.  On December 26, 1953 she married Raymond Philip Palazzo. They were married for over 61 years and resided in Laurel, MD.  Carolyn loved spending time with her family. Carolyn was a long time parishioner of St. Mary of the Mills Church in Laurel, MD.  Carolyn enjoyed sewing, reading, crafting, playing the piano, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond Palazzo: her five children: Michael Palazzo and his wife Mary Theresa (Terri) Palazzo; Patrice (Patty) Askins (Palazzo) and her husband John Richard (Rick) Askins; Jean Prunesti (Palazzo) and her husband Dominic Prunesti; Jennifer Moore (Palazzo); Stephen Palazzo and his wife Lisa Palazzo. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and their spouses: Stephanie Yannacci (Askins) and her husband Kenneth Yannacci; Aileen Downs (Prunesti) and her husband Greg Downs; Christina Askins, Dominic (Tony) Prunesti; Mary Catherine Prunesti; Nicholas Palazzo, Patrick Palazzo, Alyssa Palazzo, Michaela Palazzo. In addition she leaves behind two great-grandchildren: Samantha Yannacci, and Madelyn Downs.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue Laurel, Maryland 20707 on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Mary of the Mills Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10:30 am. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
