Charles E. Brown

May 14, 1922 ~ March 21, 2015 (age 92) 92 Years Old

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Charlie Brown of Port St. Lucie, FL.  He went peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2015, in Fulton, MD.  Charlie was born May 14, 1922.  He devoted much of his time and energy to his wife, daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  He and his wife Margie were married for 72 years.  Charlie is survived by Margie, his 3 daughters Carol, Eileen (Jerry), and Janie, his sister Peggy Bruder, and nieces and nephews.  He was a role model, father figure, and a great friend to 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Charlie leaves behind many special friends in the Pt. St. Lucie community.

 

He spent his career working as a wood worker, machinist, and technician at the David Taylor Model Basin in Maryland.  His retirement years were spent in Port St. Lucie.  He was an active parishioner at the St. Lucie Roman Catholic Church, where he enjoyed being a lector, an organizer of church picnics, and contributing his time and talents to any needed effort.  He was also an active member of the Sons and Daughters of Ireland Club and the Knights of Columbus.

 

Charlie enjoyed golfing, fishing, clock making, wood working, and life to the fullest.

His memorial service will be held on Sunday, 26 April 2015, at the 9:30 mass at St. Lucie Church, 280 Prima Vista Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL.
