Dolores E. Reggie
On Sunday, June 21, 2015, Dolores E. Reggie of Laurel, MD, passed away peacefully in the home she shared with her beloved husband of 35 years, Lawrence M. (Larry). Dolores was born in Darlington, South Carolina to the late Patience Williamson and Harold Smoot. She moved to the Washington, DC area in her teens. After high school, she joined the U.S. Navy to fulfill her passion of being a nurse. Following her service, Dolores had a successful 34-year career working as an analyst for National Security Agency during which she was awarded numerous awards and citations.
Dolores never met a stranger. Her hundred watt smile and illuminating energy instantly drew people to her. She handled hard times with elegance and grace. She put the needs of others ahead of her own regularly and she made people feel special and important everywhere she went. Dolores will be missed by all who knew her. Her smile and her heart will live on forever in her family and friends.
Dolores is survived by her two daughters, Dona S. Blackman and Lori J. Walls; her son Norwood (Jay) C. Walls, Jr. (Tricia); her step-daughter Michelle R. Reggie (David), step-son Raphael S. Reggie (Elna) and their three children, Socorra, Jude and Alex; her three grandsons, Damon C. Blackman (Tricia), Jason M. Walls, and Nathan C. Walls; two great-grand-daughters, Juliana M. Blackman and Maya R. Blackman; her brother Bernard Smoot (Helga) and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Dolores will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and a dedicated friend.
