Donald R. Ault, loving husband to Dorothy Ault for 64 years, passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. Don was born in Baltimore, on June 25, 1930, to the late Raymond and Margaret Ault. Don graduated from Oklahoma University with a Business Degree. Don is a veteran of the United States Army, a Life Member of the Laurel Lions Club, A Life Member of the American Legion Post 60, Purple Heart Association and the Fraternity of Honor The Chosin Few. He was a former president of the Laurel Lions Club and a Lion of the Year and was awarded two Purple Hearts during his time in the military. He managed the Laurel Fair Lanes and the Silver Spring Bowl before moving on to join his wife as a co-owner and manager of Dottie’s Trophies and Awards where he enjoyed talking with customers and telling stories. In addition to his wife, Don is also survived by his daughter Donna Ault Curp and her husband Dennis and Phillip Ault and his wife Cindi. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held in at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with the Lions Club service beginning at 7:30 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Monday, beginning at 11 am. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Laurel Lions Club Foundation, the American Cancer Society or the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center.
