Donald "Pete" Bussink, Sr., 81, of Laurel, MD passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017.
Born August 27, 1935, in Washington, DC, Pete attended St. John's, served in the US Army &
married the love of his life, Beverley, in 1957. Pete was a lithographer by trade and a proud
union member. He was active in the Laurel community, a parishioner at St. Mary's parish and
later Resurrection parish and he was an avid golfer!
Pete is survived by his wife Beverley, daughter Cathy Dumhart (George), daughter Dolores
Moon (Ken), son Don Bussink (Ginny), daughter Linda Bussink, grandchildren Steven Moon,
Heather Schroen (Joe), Brian Moon, Ryan Bussink and Cord Dumhart, sisters Margaret Ann
Pease (Ronnie) and Mary Ellen Auth, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ted and Anne Owen, and
sisterinlaw Marilyn Bussink.
He is predeceased by his parents Gregory and Lillian Bussink, brothers Robert Bussink,
Gregory Bussink and Bernard Bussink, sisters-in-law Bertha Bussink and Marie Bussink,
brothers-in-law George Owen and Tony Auth, and grandson David Cain Bussink.
Pete leaves behind many friends and family who will miss him dearly.
Beverley and her family are grateful to the Gilchrist Hospice organization for the kindness and
compassion shown to Pete and his family and request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made
to Gilchrist Hospice Center or The American Heart Association.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 3315 Greencastle Road, Burtonsville, MD 20866.
