George B. Allen Sr.

George B Allen Sr, 86 of Stoney Beach, Maryland passed  away in his home Sunday January 14, 2018. 

He was born in 1931 to William Elmer Allen and Sarah Virginia Hobbs in Delaware and resided most of his life in Laurel, Maryland. 

In his childhood George was an  Alter boy at St. Mary Of The Mills Catholic Church. 

He retired from his career as a Street Foreman Supervisor for the City of Takoma Park Maryland. He enjoyed drinking his coffee, listening to classic country music, watching westerns, boxing and the news, being outside working on the yard or the house, shooting pool and playing keno. George was a selfless man who loved to help others in need. Even after he retired you could find him up all hours of the night shoveling his driveway as well as his neighbors when it snowed or out mowing their lawns.  Later in his life he enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the boats come in and the fireworks over the water.  

He is survived by his companion Kathy Borras; his children George “Georgie” Allen Jr , Robert Allen, Linda Ritch, Barbara Allen, William “Billy” Allen, John Allen, Jessica Allen and his step daughter Angie Mackey. His grandchildren Harry Matchett, David Matchett, Donna Montieth, Sean Wagner, Krystle Lockhart, Melissa Murphy, Casee Allen, James Ritch, Lisa “Nikki” Griffith, Kelly Brown, Novalle “MooMoo” Allen, Trever “TJ” Patino Jr and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first love and mother of 8 of his children Dorothy Bender, daughters Helen Matchett and Sharon Montieth, step son Roger “lightfingers” Borras Jr, and grandson Tommy Montieth.  His sisters Nellie Boetker, Mary Stepp, Helen Noonan, Catherine McMahon and brother William “Bud” Allen. 

George was well loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue Laurel, Maryland on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. where a funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 10 am. Interment to follow at Maryland National Memorial Park.
