Jane Fleming Elliott

Jane Carolyn Fleming Elliott, 82 of Laurel Maryland, passed away Thursday, March 09, 2017.

She was born in 1934 to Harold Talmadge Fleming and Jane Carolyn (Prewitt) Fleming in Savage MD.

Jane was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Laurel, a lifetime member of the Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad, and Order of the Eastern Star.  She was a life long residenet of Laurel having been raised the youngest of four children. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1953. Jane started her career at NSA where she learned to interpret and write Russian. After a brief hiatus from her career when her children were born, Jane went to work with the Prince George’s County Board of Education and was based at Eisenhower Junior High School as the from office secretary and school accountant for 33 years.

She married Benjamin Stevens Elliott Jr. on May 15, 1954. She and Ben enjoyed 52 years of marriage before his death in 2006. Jane loved her family and spending time at their vacation home at the beach.

She is survived by three children, Steven Elliott, Kimberly Elliott and John Elliott and wife Amy.

Two grandchildren, Parker Benjamin and Reese Madison; two sisters-in-law Particia Elliott and Marguerite Duke and husband John; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, three brothes Edwin, Vincent and Bob Fleming.  

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel MD. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church, 424 Main Street, Laurel MD 20707.

Burial will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Health Foundation, in memory of Jane Fleming Elliott, 10720 Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20901.
