Jennifer Lynn Scherer

Jennifer Lynn Scherer, 34, passed away on June 24, 2015, at her home in Laurel, MD.  She was born on June 11, 1981, in Lawrenceville, IL, to Scott and Barbara (Wright) Scherer.

Jennifer grew up in Olney, IL, and Laurel, MD.  She was a 1999 graduate of Laurel High School.  She attended Howard Community College in Columbia, MD.   She worked as a nanny and preschool teacher prior to her current employment as a Quality Control Medical Records Screening Clerk at Livanta, LLC, in Annapolis Junction, MD.

Jennifer enjoyed ATV riding, line dancing, target shooting, spending time at the beach and in the mountains, but spending time with her friends and family, especially her niece and nephews, was her favorite pastime.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara; maternal grandfather, Donald “Jeff” Wright; paternal grandparents, Russell and Roberta Scherer; paternal great-grandfather, Jasper Harms; and maternal great-grandmother, Elva Drewes.

Jennifer is survived by her father, Scott Scherer, and wife, Peggy (Calvert-Vest) Scherer, of Fairhope, PA; her brother, Brian Scherer, and wife, Katy (Grimes) Scherer, of Sykesville, MD; step-sister, Erin Vest; niece, Hannah Scherer; nephews, Logan and Joshua Scherer; maternal grandmother, Mary Wright, of Olney, IL; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be at Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel, MD 20707, on Monday, June 29, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Warren Litchfield.  Funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Donaldson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Kevin O'Reilly officiating.  Burial will follow at Mount View Cemetery, West Friendship, MD.
