Justine Ann Lehner

Mrs. Justine Ann Lehner passed away on March 24, 2017, in Laurel, MD. She was born in Wayne, New Jersey, Justine Ann Rutherford on October 19, 1969. 

Justine’s life revolved around nursing and caring for people. She became a candy striper at a long term care facility in New Jersey at the age of 16. After high school, Justine immediately joined the U.S. Navy in 1990 as a corpsman. She received several awards and commendations before becoming honorably discharged as a disabled Veteran. Justine continued her education at Howard Community College where she became a Registered Nurse. Justine’s career began at Lorien Nursing Home in Columbia, MD. Justine then went on to become the Director of Nursing at The Hebrew of Greater Washington in Rockville, MD and thrived on developing centers of excellence for her patients. 

Justine had the ability to light up a room and leave a lasting impression on every person she met. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed time with her dog Swiffer, and was never afraid to be the life of the party. 

Justine is survived by her husband of 19 years, Thomas A. Lehner, her children Tyler A. Rutherford and Madison V. Lehner. She is also survived by her mother Vivian (Oran) Silvey, brother David Rutherford and his wife Robin and their children Jacob, Nicole, and Luke Rutherford, brother and sister-in-law Kirk (Connie) Lehner and Sandra (Dutch) Gregory.  Pre-deceased by father David Rutherford, Sr. and beloved sisterWendy Rutherford Grande.

A visitation will be held at St. Mary of the Mills Church, 114 St. Mary’s Place, Laurel MD 20707 on Wednesday, March 29 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM  at which time a Funeral Mass will be held, and then she will receive military honors.
