Lewis Gibson Davenport, 85, life-long resident of Laurel Maryland. Passed away surrounded by his family, April 11, 2018. He was born July 31, 1932 to Elvin and Eva Agnes Davenport in Laurel, Maryland. Lewis served his country in the US Navy and received his Honorable Discharge April, 1955. A fifty year member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Maryland, Laurel Wreath Lodge 149. A life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Laurel Chapter 75. Life Member of the American Legion and National Rifle Association. Lewis was the Lieutenant of the Marine Division for many years and Life Member of the Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad. Lewis was a successful business owner for many years, as the president of Concrete Supply Corporation in Silver Spring Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, both parents, Elvin & Eva Agnes Davenport, and his two sisters Novella Harman and Carolyn Mullis. He is survived by his son Dale Davenport, daughters Tina Davenport and Beth Banocy, grandchildren Justin Williams, Emily Banocy, Amanda Banocy, Sebastian Davenport, Nicholas Davenport and Miranda Davenport.
Family and Friends will be received Tuesday, April 17th 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Donaldson Funeral Home 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel Maryland 20707. Service to be held Wednesday, April 18th at 10:00 am, Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge Maryland. Memorial donations to Laurel Volunteer Rescue Squad, 14910 Bowie Road, Laurel Maryland 20707.
