Michael Lee Obituary

Michael Charles Lee, 60 years old, died on December 4, 2018, from renal cancer that spread to his bones. He faced cancer the same way he lived, with a strong, fighting spirit and perseverance, working till the very end.

Mike was born January 26, 1958, to Frances and Charles Lee in Laurel, Maryland, the oldest of five children. Always active, he played baseball and football throughout his childhood, earning him a reputation as a true competitor. He eventually became the co-captain of the varsity baseball and football team at Atholton High School where he graduated in 1976. He continued to Towson University where he received a degree in Accounting. He also earned his bachelor's and master’s degree from the University of Baltimore School of Business.

He eventually moved to Carlsbad, California where he started his own CPA business. He was passionate about his career and as a result, his clients speak very highly of him, telling of how he went above and beyond for them.

He was a hard worker, but he also played hard too. He never lost his love of sports and continued to play golf and baseball in many different leagues. He was more than a good player, he was a good teammate on and off the field. Generous with his time and resources, he mentored young athletes in the community as well.

Michael is joining loved ones in heaven, including his mother, Frances Lee, nephew, Bryan Parlette, grandparents, Robert and Mary Lee, Vernon and Irene Lishear, and many aunts and uncles.

He will be missed by his wife, Valerie Lee, his father Charles Lee, his siblings and their spouses: Theresa Parlette, Carol and Rob Floyd, Gary and Annette Lee, Ralph Lee, and Cindy Lee Morgan, Gordon Walker’s family (his second home growing up), and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins, too many to name but all important to Mike. He was proud of his large family, his most valuable team.

All are welcome to celebrate Michael with his family. The following arrangements have been made:
