Scott Wayne Vaszil

Scott Wayne Vaszil, age 55, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017, in his Fulton, MD home after a lengthy battle with ALS. 

Born on August 1, 1961 in Washington, DC., Scott is survived by his wife, Lora, his four children; Nicholas (21), Scott (12), Tyler (10) and Justin (8).  Scott is also survived by his mother Joan Vaszil and three siblings; Mark Vaszil, Joan Lynn Tischer and Jennifer Vaszil in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Scott was preceded earlier in death by his father Frank Vaszil and a brother Frank “Jay” Vaszil.

Scott was the owner and operator of his own home improvement business, SV Enterprises and was known as both a skillful and accomplished craftsman in his trade.  He is also remembered for taking great pleasure in watching his children participate in various sports and other school related activities.  Moreover, Scott was a devoted member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fulton, MD.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 15 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8300 Old Columbia Rd, Fulton, MD 20759 on Thursday March 16 beginning at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Rockville, MD.
