Susan K. Poe

Susan Kathryn Wellford Poe, 80 of Laurel, Maryland passed away November 29 2018.

Susan was born in Laurel, Maryland to William L. Wellford, Sr. and K. Juanita Wellford in 1938.

Susan was a member of the America Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #278 Kent Island, Sweet Adaline Chorus of Grasonville, Md, and St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, Laurel, Md.

Susan retired from the City of Laurel as the Assistant to the Director for Planning and Zoning in April 2005.  She had worked for the city for 26 years.

Susan enjoyed cooking, crocheting and being on the water with her husband. She had a passion for music and most of all, singing.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan K. Poe; her son, C. Scott Poe, Sr. (Charlotte); stepson Robert L. Poe, Jr (Jennifer) and, grandchildren: Kathryn Grace Hardy, Charles Scott Poe, Jr., D. Benjamin Hardy, Andrew Joseph. Poe, Anna Marie Poe, David A. Poe, and Sarah K. Poe.  She leaves behind two siblings, William L. Wellford, Jr.(Mary) and Gayle Wellford Snyder (Fred).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Poe, Sr., and her son, Mark S. Poe

Visitation will be on December 15th at  Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD 20707. Visiting hours are from 10:00 am – 12:00pm with a Catholic prayer service immediately following.  Graveside prayer will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery and a luncheon reception will follow at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse located at 14714 Baltimore Ave, Laurel, MD 20707.
