Walter David Minnick, Jr. (“Wally”), a longtime resident of Laurel, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017. He was 91. He was born on February 1, 1926 in Washington, D.C. to the late Walter David Minnick, Sr. and Martha Edith (Salyards) Minnick. He graduated from McKinley Tech High School and attended the University of Virginia. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Poland parish in Silver Spring. He was a charter member of the Stuart-Mosby Civil War Society. He was a WWII Veteran who actively served in the U.S. Air Force followed by the Air Force Reserves. He retired from the government.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Mary Jo Minnick; and loving daughters Carol Ann Skinner and her husband Richmond and Karen Lynn Huguley and her husband Robert.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Mar 16, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Mar 17, 2017 at 3:30 PM at Our Lady Queen of Poland, 9700 Rosensteel Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Interment with military honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 3 pm.
