“Bill” William H. Bayles, a lifelong resident of Laurel, passed away at his home on March 20, 2018 at the young age of 74. Bill was born on May 10, 1943 in Connecticut. At a young age his family moved to Connecticut then Laurel, Maryland. He was a graduate of Laurel High School, Class of 1961. He worked for Prince George Fire Department for 20 years. He was stationed at Bowie Vol. Fire Dept. (Stations 19, 39, 43) for 10 years and then transferred to Greenbelt Vol. Fire Dept. (Station 35) for the other 10 years. He was a life-member of the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department for almost 59 years, where he served as pasted Chief Engineer of Maintenance, Assistant Chief, Driver and Operator, and Board of Trustee member.
He is survived by his devoted wife May-Lynn Bayles; son Todd and daughter-in-law Pam Bayles; granddaughters Savannah and Jordan Bayles; sister and brother-in-law Laura & Zaman Ali, nephew Dylan Hopkins, life long friends Ted & Gloria Lovell and extended family and friends.
