Ersilia Lappa

Ersilia L. Lappa, 71, of Eldersburg, MD, formerly of Laurel, MD, passed away June 27, 2020.  She was born November 4, 1948 in Montegallo, Italy to Giocondo and Teodolinda DiClaudio Lappa and grew up in Wilmington, DE.  She worked for over 35 years as a bartender at various locations and owned Lappa's Pizza and Sub Shop in Laurel from 1987-1994.

She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved son Lloyd E. Kendle, brother Vitale J. Lappa, and cousin Rosie Paloni.  She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ann (Kendle) Lappa of Eldersburg, MD; sister Maria Lappa Schaal of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren Maria (Geoffrey) Lupinetti Fraser of Columbia, MD; Vincent Fitch of Atlanta, GA; Giovanni Fitch of Laurel, MD; Lorenzo and Angelina Robins of Eldersburg, MD; Alyssa Kendle of Fairfax, VA; great-grandson, Cruz Emerson Fraser; great-granddaughter Sophia Lynn Kendle; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins from Wilmington and Hockessin, DE and other relatives from Italy and Canada.

She was a devout Catholic and regularly attended St. Mary of the Mills in Laurel, MD and St. Andrews in Silver Spring, MD.  Her favorite hobbies were gardening, traveling, antiquing, estate sales, growing roses, and spending time with family and friends.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 6, 2020 at St. Mary of the Mills Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, MD, 20707 from 9-10 a.m. at which time a funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m.   A private burial will follow at Cathedral Cemetery in Wilmington, DE.  The family prefers flowers be sent to St. Mary of the Mills Church and memorial donations to Carroll Hospice (Dove House), 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD, 21157.
