James Wells Obituary

James Ronald Wells, born April 20, 1947, unexpectedly passed away on April 9th, 2024.

He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, love, and service.

Ronnie, as he was affectionately known, dedicated 37 years of his life to the U.S. Postal Service, where he served diligently. His commitment and hard work were evident throughout his career.  Beyond his professional endeavors, Ronnie was deeply committed to his community. As a life member of the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department, he exemplified the spirit of selflessness and service, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Ronnie's greatest joy in life was his family. He shared 53 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Ann Wells. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Ronnie was a devoted father to his son, Robert Edward Wells and wife Rachel, and daughter, Jennifer Rebecca Wells and husband Keith.  He took immense pride in their accomplishments and faithfully supported them throughout their lives.

In addition to his immediate family, Ronnie leaves behind a rich legacy carried on by his three adoring grandchildren: Reagan Wells, Paxton Wells, and Vivian Wells. Whose presence brought him immense joy.

Ronnie is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Ann Hyatt and Maryellen Humphreys, along with their husbands, Terry and Michael, respectively. Together, they shared a bond of love and support that transcended any challenge they faced. Ronnie was preceded in death by his sister, Dianna Dail Collins, whose memory he held dear in his heart.

James Ronald Wells will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His humor, generosity, and unwavering love will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives he touched. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal love of his family and friends.
