John W. Simons

John W. Simons passed away peacefully at his home in Westminster, Maryland on Thursday, February 13, 2020.  John was the son of Margaret and Homer Simons.  Born on February 3, 1935.  John attended Saint Mildreds High School and married Mary Lenore Ahlquist on March 29, 1958.  John served in the U.S. Navy in the early 1950’s that included two years at sea on a submarine.  He worked as a   Steamfitter and was a member of the Steamfitters Local 602 since 1958.  He enjoyed driving his John Deere tractor and landscaping his yard.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  He leaves a legacy behind, including two sons, Mark and John (Wes); two daughters, Karen and Victoria; and their spouses. He also left behind three sisters, Barbara, Sally, and Patricia.  Also surviving are twelve loving grandchildren; Cody, Corine, Dalton, Carter, Alex, Miranda, James, Abigail, Patrick, Thomas, Collin, and Carolyn, and twin great grandchildren, Joseph and John. 

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, and his parents-in-law Mary and Leonard Ahlquist; and his sister, Martha.
