OBITUARY OF RICHARD DAVID HARMAN, SR.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of my beloved husband of 30+ years who passed away peacefully on May 8. Richard David Harman, SR, age 85, of Akron, Ohio, born March 16, 1936 to Cecil and Dorothy Martin. Served in the United States Navy and following his service joined the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). He worked his way up from Detective to Lieutenant and due to his outstanding leadership, he was assigned as bodyguard to Governor Bill Gullett. He retired from the FOP due to injury and pursued an interest in woodworking. This led to the beginning of Harman's Antique Restoration & Upholstery a great and thriving business that he was so passionate about.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ann Rochelle Harman, of Oakland, CA, children Jim (Tracey), Rick (Lisa), Michele (Danny) and Jeff (Kirsten), Grandchildren Angeline, Jeanaleah, Jimmy, Andrew, and Jackson as well as Great Grandchildren Ava, Joseph, Maria and Drew.
