Barbara Marie Eddins, 73, of Columbia, Maryland passed away on February 3rd. She was born in 1944 to John Willett and Marie Barbee Willett of Silver Spring. After graduating from Montgomery College, she was a member of the administrative staff at the Applied Physics Laboratory of the Johns Hopkins University. She left there in 1971 to raise her two children, Christopher and Melissa. Some years later she returned to school and earned her AA in Nursing from Howard Community College. She was an RN on the staff at Howard County General Hospital for 13 years and then moved to a position with Crossroads Medical Associates from which she retired in 2012.
Barbara loved to travel, to see new sights, to meet new friends, and her warm, engaging personality ensured that everyone she met became her friend. She traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, South America and the US and Canada. But her greatest passion was reserved for her family, friends and neighbors. Her home was the focus of many family gatherings featuring her wonderful cooking.
She is survived by her husband, Donald, son Christopher of Jessup, daughter Melissa Susini, granddaughters Alexandra and Devin Susini, of Columbia, granddaughter Brenna Eddins and grandson Ronin Eddins of Edinburgh, Scotland, and brother, David Willett, of Ocean Pines, Maryland.
