Charles R. Hamlet, Sr.

Charles R. Hamlet Sr., 74 of Laurel MD passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at home. Charles was born in Virginia to the late Andrew and Grace Hamlet on September 6, 1943.

Charles joined the Army National Guard in 1962. He married his childhood sweetheart Edna M Atkins on September 6, 1964. During their 54 years of marriage they raised 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Charles was a mechanic at Ballenger Buick for 25 years, he was the owner/operator of Hamlet Services and also provided years of service to the Heil Plumbing Company. During his retirement he found joy in his woodshop, spreading love and happiness through woodworking. Charles was always gifting his hand crafted toys. Charles is survived by his loving wife Edna, his children Nancy (Jimmy) Piteleski, Laurie (Ed) Heil, Charles Jr. (Carmen) Hamlet and Jessica (Josh) Wiegmann. His grandchildren Justin, Stewart, Brody, Leslie, Eddie, Charlie, Sammy, Sara, Zack, Ally and Austin. Services will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home of Laurel on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 10 AM. A graveside service will immediately follow.
