Emmerson Tinsley was born May 25, 1929 in West Virginia. He was the son of Beatrice Tinsley. Emmerson spent the majority of his life in New York City, NY where he met his beloved wife, Ophelia Beatty. Emmerson and Ophelia were parents to eight children; Janet, Ronald (deceased), Antonionette, Yvonna (deceased), Francis, Paul (deceased), Demetria and Kim.
Emmerson enjoyed being a mechanic due to his passion for cars. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his bike as well as showing off his artistic side in which he would glue money and dice onto his clothing, bikes and any objects he could put his hands on. Emmerson biggest enjoyment was being a grandfather to his 19 grandchildren; Vanessa, Vernon (deceased), Karen, Yolanda, Nicole, Sean, Namia, Natoka, Antonio, Alyric, Lakaiesha, Kowana, Charlene, Thomas, Cory, Charles, Ophelia and Cecilia. He leaves behind 25 great-grandchildren and 16 great-greatgrandchildren. He also has one living relative from his mother’s side which is his second cousin, Landy.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel, 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Maryland from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebrations of Life will take place at 2:00 pm. Interment will be private.
