Georgine "Jean" Patla

On October 7, 2017, our beloved Jean Patla was called home.

Jean Patla was born April 7, 1961 to late Rose Marie and Bernard Petak in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, later in life moving to Mount Gilead, Ohio where, she graduated from Mount Gilead High School.  She had two older brothers, Mark Petak and Bernard Petak and two older sisters, Kathy Cordle and Rose Marie Guthrie.

After graduation, she proudly served our country in the U.S. Airforce from 1979 to 1982.  While in service she married Fernando Patla (later divorced), having two wonderful children, son Nicholas A. Patla and later her daughter, Danielle M. Patla.  Then in 2000, she started a beautiful journey till her last days with her soul mate, Robert Suvall.  

Everyone who knows her knows how sweet and loving she was.  She always put everyone before herself, always being there to listen and giving the best advice, she could.  Her shoulders were stained with many tears from those in her life that she loved and cared about.  She was always positive and upbeat, lighting up the room wherever she went, desiring those around her to have the best experiences and memories.  She was very creative and crafty and loved making custom tailored cards for many occasions, bringing smiles to the faces and warmth to the hearts of the lucky recipients.  Her children being grown up, she treated her grandkids Ayden Patla, Braylen Patla, and Sophia Baker as her own.  Jean’s love of family was very important and the center of her life as she always tried to make family gatherings extra special and fun for all.
