Karen Marie (Zambreny) Williams, 60, unexpectedly passed away November 21, 2018 at University of Maryland Medical Center. Born January 14, 1958 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Robert Wilson Zambreny and Mary Patricia Zambreny. She was the granddaughter of Wilson Edward and Mildred Marie (Taylor) Zambreny and John Wesley and Mary Elizabeth Brashears.
Karen served eighteen years in the Army as a nuclear medical laboratory specialist both in the in the US and Germany. She worked for FedEx for eight years and retired in 2004.
She is survived by one daughter: Heather Young Weschler (Stanley); two sons, Nicolaus Thomas Young, and John Eric Saldana (Meghan); and five grandchildren: Samantha Jenkins, Jordan Weschler, Mary Jane Weschler, Bella Saldana, and Sawyer Saldana.
Karen is also survived by two sisters: Deborah LaBonte (Mike), Christine Zambreny, and two brothers: Robert Wilson Zambreny, Jr. (Amy), and James Zambreny; and numerous nephews and nieces.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11:00 am, with a Eulogy to begin at 10:45 am at Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, 8402 Brock Bridge Road, Laurel, MD 20724. Burial, with military honors, will follow at 2:30 pm in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Hwy, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
