Our sweet Laurie left this world suddenly on Saturday, September 21st, 2019. She was born in Silver Springs, MD on November 19, 1971 to Grant and Lynda Umstot. She grew up in Laurel, MD and graduated from Laurel High School in 1989.
Laurie's career was focused mainly in the financial and real estate industry and was most recently employed by Nicholas P. Pipino & Associates.
Laurie was diagnosed with Multiple-Myeloma in May 2017, an incurable but treatable cancer. Her battle included a barrage of radiation, chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, and daily maintenance. Yet throughout it all, she had the courage and strength to remain a dedicated Mom and Daughter. Her children were her world.
Laurie is survived by her husband, William Trost; son, Dominic; daughters, Peyton and Chloe of Elkridge, MD; her parents, Grant and Lynda Umstot of Laurel, MD; her brother, Stephen Umstot and wife Brenda of Germantown, Ohio; her aunt, Joy Spade and husband Mark of Orlando, FL; nephews Grant and Josh; niece, Shelby; her cousin Melinda Thomas and husband Phillip of Hagerstown, MD; many extended family members, her co-worker, Wendy Faass, her best friend, Rachel Gracia and her loving cheer family.
Laurie was a football mom and cheer coach for the past 15 years. She was always involved in her children's sports and school activities. With the dedication, determination, and strength she provided to all those children, from tiny tots to teenagers, she has helped mold strong, empowered young girls going forward.
Laurie was fiercely loyal and compassionate to everyone that knew her. Her beautiful smile would light up your soul. Her presence in our lives will be sorely missed. When you think of Laurie, celebrate the good memories you have of her and remember that life is so fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest.
