LUCIUS ROSS JR was born to his late parents Lucius Ross Sr. and Rose Ella (Lee) Ross on
December 15, 1948 in Washington, D.C.
Lou was educated in the public school systems of Washington, D.C. and Prince Georges County, Maryland. He also attended Prince Georges Community College and Wesley Theological Seminary. Lou worked for the federal government for 33 years, primarily at the Department of Health and Human Services (formerly the Department of Health, Education and Welfare) before retiring in 2000 to enter the ministry full-time until his retirement in 2011.
Lucius is survived by two adult daughters, Nicole V. Ross of Havre de Grace, Maryland and Danielle Renee Ross of Washington, D.C. He has four grandchildren: Drake, Ronnie, Davin and Harlee; one sister Donna M. Harris and a niece Ashley Harris and nephew Jason Harris.
Family will receive friends at Hughes Memorial United Methodist Church, 25 53rd Street, NE, Washington DC 20019, from 10:30 AM Until a time of memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
Private internment will be held at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltonham, MD at a later date.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hughes Memorial United Methodist Church Youth Ministry, 25 53rd Street, NE Washington DC, 20019.
