Welcome to the memorial page for

Nathan Jossiah Bowman

July 31, 2000 ~ January 9, 2018 (age 17) 17 Years Old

Nathan Jossiah Bowman…

walked into the Loving Arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 9, 2018 at the age of 17. He was born on July 31, 2000 in Laurel, MD with an undeniable light shining from within his small soul.

After Faith Baptist Christian School, he attended Howard County Public Schools and was highly intelligent, intellectual and inquisitive with a strong enthusiasm for knowledge.  He was fascinated by astronomy and wanted to study the stars and deep space.  He was a quick learner, a deep thinker and was extremely creative.  It didn’t matter whether you met Nathan for the first time or knew him all his lifetime; his infectious sense of humor and magnificent personality will always be remembered by his family, friends, classmates and teachers.

He was an amazing big brother who loved his two sisters with all his heart. He was empowered as the ‘Man of the house” in training.  He found happiness in making music, writing lyrics and enjoyed playing guitar, piano, basketball as well as shooting pool and card games with his dad, Alvin.  It is without question that his mother was the Joy of his life.

Nathan accepted the Lord Jesus in his life at the age of 7 and has therefore been a child of the King for many years. His life and the fullness of his smile was undoubtedly a testament to all that crossed his path.  It was impossible to know him and not be captivated by his kindhearted and joyful spirit.  He truly exuded a style and swagger uniquely all his own.

He was a proud member of New Hope Adventist Church in Fulton, MD under the guidance and leadership of Pastor Mike Speegle. He also previously attended Winning Souls Church in Pasadena, MD and participated in various youth groups and church programs.

Nathan leaves to cherish his memories:  His loving parents (Joy and Alvin Bowman Jr.), sisters (Nevaeh and Nia), grandmother (Elaine Caston), grandparents (Barbara and Alvin Bowman Sr.), uncle (Aaron Bowman), aunts (Monique Thomas and Minnie Omoregie), family in Mississippi and a host of other cousins, relatives, classmates and dear friends.
