Ralph Donald Bulla

Ralph Donald Bulla died in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 7, 2018 to join his wife of 63 years who had died seven days earlier.

Don Bulla was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 13, 1933.  He served in the U.S. Army.  He married Jane Mary Bulla (nee Calcutt) on April 23, 1955.  Together they had four children, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Dorothy Bulla, and siblings Joanne Meacher (nee Bulla) and Thomas Bulla.  His brother William Bulla still resides in New York.

Don had a distinguished career in the National Security Agency, from whence he retired.  During his retirement, Don worked for Citizen’s National Bank, actively volunteered with the Laurel Police Auxiliary, was a member of the Laurel Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni, actively enjoyed the Laurel Writer’s workshop, and traveling. Don was also a lifelong donor and volunteer for the American Red Cross.

Don’s immediate family included: Mary Jane Bulla-Sanchez (Carlos), Elizabeth Ann Williams, Mark Donald Bulla (Tami), and Patrick Michael Bulla (Maria).  She loved her grandchildren: Robert Bruce Williams, Jr., Joshua Adam Williams, Rachael Marie Gregorakos (nee Williams), Katherine Marie Bulla, Michael Christopher Bulla, Joanne Kathleen Bulla, Abigail Jeannette Bulla, and Stephanie Jane Bulla Sanchez. Great grandchild, Yianni Thomas Gregorakos.  Don also leaves behind many cousins, nephews and nieces.

A joint visitation for Don and his wife Jane will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Maryland 20707 between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Cryptologic Museum.
