Seaton was the most remarkable person I've ever met in my life. One of the most dedicated, hard working Civil Servants this country has ever had (both in his military and Civil Service careers). One of the most personable, friendliest people you could know. As busy as he always was, he would go out of his way to help anybody.

Uncle S.B. certainly had a full and interesting life. We always enjoyed talking to him at the family reunions and have missed him these last few years. It is obvious by the numerous entries on this site that he was loved and respected by many.

Sending love and prayers to all of you.

Seaton will be sorely missed. I worked with him in Nascom for almost 40 years and he was always coming to Tech Control prior to a mission to ensure that we had all the comm requirements covered. He was a great friend. Rest in peace Seaton!

Having just received the sad news of Seaton's passing, I wish to express my heart felt condolences and am happy to say I was a friend and co worker. I had great respect for Seaton who had a very well lived life, with few regrets. I have missed our conversations ever since he retired. I treasure my brief relationship with Seaton and relished in his stories of a long and varied career. He will be missed.

What a lovely man. Always had a smile.
It has been said that when someone passes on, they take a part of us with them. They also leave a part of themselves by with us.

I had the extreme honor meeting Mr. Seaton Norman 15 years ago during my first shuttle mission. I will remember him as great yet humble man who always had time to "share" a story with anyone. I will remember him as my friend.

To the Norman Family.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.

Seaton was always full of ideas and ways to get the job done in the NASCOM world, especially helping me with some of my circuits at Langley. He was a great guy and a lot of fun to talk to!

It was an honor and a privilege for me to have known and to have been able to work with Seaton for many years during the Space Shuttle program. He was always ready to provide assistance with any communications issues that arose. I always enjoyed talking to him on both a professional level and on a personal level. He would often detail many of the experiences of his incredible life and provide valuable advice. He will be greatly missed.

I first met Seaton when I came to Nascom as a recent high-school graduate supporting the Branch as the new Secretary in 1987. I was always most impressed by his professionalism and love for the work that he did. I loved to hear his stories about his kids and eventually his grandkids and how proud he was of them. Never once, did I have to remind him to give me his receipts and paperwork so I could do his travel vouchers after one of his many trips to Houston. I consider him a friend first, then mentor and co-worker. Seaton, you will have always have a special place in my heart. You've always looked out for me and I can't imagine my 28+ years at NASA without you. RIP!

Seaton will be missed by the GSFC family. He was always down to earth. I enjoyed attending meetings with Seaton and he would always make you laugh. I first met Seaton in Odenton, MD where his daughter Michele reside. We talked for hours after learning that he too worked at GSFC. I always knew Seaton birthday because he was born the same month and year as my father. My prayers will be with the family during this difficult time.

I had the privilege of working with Seaton during my entire career at Goddard. I also had the privilege of traveling with him to most of the other NASA Centers. No matter where we went, he was well known. He was my mentor and good friend. He remains a Nascom/Nisn Legend to those that also had the privilege of working with and knowing him.

A Gentleman, mentor and example for what we strive to be. Seaton touched and taught many more people than he could have imagined. The first time that I met him, I thought that "this guy is what MASA is supposed to be." E've lost a very good man, and an important piece of history in my opinion. Rest well Seaton. You have made the world a better, and more interesting place.

He was fun to work with and provided comradery amongst our group (NASCOM). I will miss him not only as a coworker, but also a friend! GOD bless you Seaton, rest in peace!

Norman Seaton will be remembered with fondness and admiration by those of us in the Exploration and Space Communications Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. His contributions to the many space missions, especially the Space Shuttle was significant and was critical to connecting the orbiter to the Space Network relays and ultimately to the Mission Control Center in Houston. His long and amazing career serves as an example to us all how one individuals hard work and dedication can really make a difference. He will be missed.

Godspeed Seaton Norman, Godspeed.
