Virginia Nestell Baliles

Peacefully, on Friday July 21, 2017, Virginia Nestell Baliles, aged 85 of Laurel MD, reunited in heaven with her beloved husband James Harold and their son Dale Everett. 

Virginia was a wonderful wife and mother and was devoted to her family. As an only child, she enjoyed the large and loving Baliles family and always delighted in gatherings of the many generations. Through the years she was active in the church, serving in the nursery, in hospitality, and supporting the youth group camping trips.  Jim and Virginia enjoyed weekends on the water in the house they built in 1977 in the Northern Neck of Virginia where the family still gathers. They enjoyed many trips and over 30 cruises with cherished friends and family over the years. In later years, after the death of Jim in 2007, she loved dining out with friends and spending time with family. 

She is survived by her son Derek (Cindy) Baliles, daughters Laura Roberson and Jennifer (Stuart) Young.  Her grandchildren, Jeremy (Bethany) Limmer, Nicole Limmer (Chris Oliver), Brittany (Darryl) Augustyniak, Patrick Young, Casey Young, Taylor Baliles, and Gerald Baliles. Her great-grandchildren, Aydin, Allie, Mason, Piper, Zoey, Thea, Finley, River, and soon to be born baby Limmer.  Additionally, she is survived by brothers-in-law Kenneth (Marlene), Jack (Pete), sister-in-law Nancy Baliles, close cousin Eleanor Friedenberg and her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also preceded in death by her parents, James Everett and Helen Collard Nestell and her brother-in-law George Baliles.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 27th at Donaldson Funeral Home in Laurel, MD.  There will be a viewing at 11:00am and the funeral to follow at 12:00 noon.  Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery (4111 Pennsylvania Ave, Suitland, MD.) Memorial fellowship will follow at the Cherry View Community Center (9282 Cherry Lane, Laurel, MD.) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Laurel, MD (424 Main Street, Laurel, MD 20707) which supports many community mission projects.
