William Adam Todd, Jr., 83, of Laurel, MD, passed away October 31, 2017 after a five-year struggle with cancer.

 

He was born in 1934 to William Adam Todd, Sr. and Mary Willie (King) Todd in Washington, DC.

 

Bill was an active member of St. Philips Episcopal Church, Past Master of Laurel Wreath Lodge #149, Past President of Southern Maryland Past Masters’ Association, Past Patron of Naomi Chapter #3 and Past Grand Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star of D.C.; also a member of Scottish Rite, Valley of Washington, and Almas Shrine.

 

He retired in 1986 from Naval Surface Weapons Center as a Supervisory Planner and Estimator, and until his death served as Vice President of MESH Charities, Inc.

 

He enjoyed photography, reading, traveling, and birdwatching, and was a volunteer at National Wildlife Visitor Center for many years. In earlier years he was a champion trapshooter.

 

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Dorothy (Langdon), sister Mary Ann Cooke and husband Bill, son Bill and wife Janet, daughter Kathy Masonis and husband Bill, grandchildren Alex and Liz Masonis and Rachel Todd, great-grandson Evan Masonis, special cousin Ann Hadaway, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy, and brother Vernon.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 7 from 4 to 8 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD 20707, with Masonic Memorial Service at 7:30 pm.

 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Philips Church or MESH Charities, Inc.
