Adron Malone Tidwell

January 22, 1930 — June 11, 2014

Born January 22, 1930 in Rogersville Alabama, to Thomas Tidwell & Ludie May Trousdale. Adron served in the US Air Force attaining the rank of Sargent, until honorably discharged in December 1949. On June 4, 1949, he married Mary Virginia Thigpen.
He lived in College Park, MD and worked as a crossing guard for Prince George's County after retiring from Mrs. Smith's Bakery in 1993.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary Virginia Tidwell, daughter Brenda J Purvis and partner Carter Melbourne of Laurel MD, grandson Brian J Purvis and wife Michelle; great granddaughter Ella of Los Angeles: and grandson Justin K Purvis of Baltimore, his niece Suzanne Cannon and husband Jerry; niece Mary Lynn of Charlotte NC, and his grandnieces Heather and Kelly of Florence, AL.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 18 from 6 to 8 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home 313 Talbott Avenue, Route 198 West, Laurel, MD 20707. Services will be held at the DFH Chapel at 11 AM on Thursday June 19. Interment will follow at Fort Lincoln Cemetery 3401 Bladensburg Rd, Brentwood, MD 20722
