Alexander "Al" Soroka
January 11, 1921 — January 28, 2018
Al Soroka, 97, of Laurel passed away January 28, 2018. He was born in 1921 to Paul Soroka and Martha (Panchuk) Soroka. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and retired from Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1985. He loved dancing, traveling, and volunteering at Senior Centers preparing tax returns.
Al is survived by his daughter Joyce Valdivia, son Alexander Soroka, his grandchildren Brandon Lee and Melissa Valdivia, his sister Olga Zablotny and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Soroka.
Visitation will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home, 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel, MD 20707, Thursday, February 1 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Services will be held the following day, Friday, Feb 2 at 1:00 pm in the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
