Alfred Robert Angeletti

February 12, 1926 — November 18, 2017

Alfred Robert Angeletti was born in New York on February 12, 1926. He was the oldest of three children born to Alfred Angeletti and Margaret Kelleher Angeletti. His two sisters, Dolores (Grogan) and Barbara (Simonsen), reside with their families in New York State.

Alfred attended St. Barnabas Grammar School and Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx, and then Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. He graduated from Iona in 1947 and remained active in alumni activities there for many years.

Alfred married Jane Marie Kelly on May 17, 1952. They welcomed six children into the world (one passed at birth) and they were happily married for 65 years. Alfred worked as a Sales Representative for the Kellogg Cereal Company for 38 years before retiring in 1990. He worked for Kellogg’s for many years in his native New York City area before being transferred to the Washington D.C. area in 1973. He and Jane and the three youngest children moved from Yonkers, NY and settled in Laurel, MD at that time, originally on Montpelier Drive, and since 1983 in the Hammond Hills section of North Laurel off Route 216.

Alfred loved his family, lived to be with them as much as possible, and set an example for all of them with his strong Catholic faith. He is survived by his loving wife Jane, children Robert, Mary Jane Janniello (Bobby), Donald (Kathy), Tom (Sharon) and Sue Pate (Rob); 11 grandchildren: Danny Janniello (Caitlin), Jennifer Ramsey (Steve), Lauren Opinion (Joseph), Chrissy Bowen-Kreiner (Mischa), Steven (Kat), Jimmy, Colleen, Kelly, Amy, John and Katerina; and 4 great-grandchildren: Alexandra Bowen-Kreiner, Nolan Angeletti, Eleanor Janniello and Claire Ramsey. Another great-grandchild is “on the way” next spring.

Alfred will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace!
