Alfred T. Brisbois, Retired U.S. Army and County Housing Director
May 18, 1927 – November 5, 2015
Alfred Brisbois was a proud American who honorably served his country in the U.S. Army at various installations in the United States, Japan, Germany and Republic of Vietnam. After serving more than 22 years in the U.S. Army, he received an Honorable Discharge as a Sergeant First Class and moved to Waynesboro, PA where he was employed by the Franklin County Housing Authority. Al advanced to several positions of increasing responsibility and was ultimately appointed as Director of the Franklin County Housing Authority. He retired in 1997 and moved to Laurel, Maryland in 2004.
Al is survived by his wife, Trude, of 66 years, his son Frederick Brisbois and wife Susan of Guilford, CT, daughter Mary Bixler and husband Brian, of Laurel, Maryland, sisters Verena Holdforth, Forest Heights, MD and Mary Simms, Milaca, MN. He has 5 loving grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, November 11, from 5-8 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Ave., Laurel, MD.
Church service will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, November 12 at The Resurrection of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, 8402 Brock Bridge Road, Laurel, MD. http://www.roollaurel.org
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
