Alonzo (Bud) Wallace Selby Jr.

Alonzo “Bud” Wallace Selby, Jr. passed away on August 24, 2021, he was 84 years old. He was born on February 18, 1937, in Clarksville, MD to Alonzo W. Selby and Doris Johnson.

Mr. Selby served in the United States Navy and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulton, and the Maryland State Trap Shoot Organization. He retired from APL in Laurel, MD in 1995. His favorite pastimes were cooking, fishing, crabbing, trap shooting and spending time with family and loved ones.

Survivors include his wife Charlotte Selby, son Alonzo Wallace Selby, III, grandchildren Sarah and Kyle Selby, great-grandchildren Christopher Herndon and Cameron Herndon, brothers and sisters, Bill Johnson, Gail Crum, Jimmy Selby, John Selby, Roland Selby, David Selby, and Charlotte “Shatz” Carpenter. He was preceded in death by son David and Grandson, Stevie Ray Selby.  Alonzo will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his immediate family, extended family, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel on Thursday, September 2 on from 10 to 11 AM. Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation and or Alzheimer’s Association.
