Ann Walters Kennedy, aged 85, passed away on October 2, 2024, in Laurel, MD. She was born July 30, 1939 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. She made her home for over 50 years in Montgomery County, Maryland. Ann dedicated many years to Citibank before retiring as a respected banker. She was a proud alumna of Women's College, now the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
Ann was known for her warm personality, embodying traits of kindness, care, and love, deeply rooted in her strong faith in God. She cherished her role as a grandmother, making each grandchild feel uniquely special. Her creative spirit shone through her talents as an artist and piano player, and she found joy in hobbies like reading, knitting, quilting, and traveling. Ann's love for spending time with friends and family filled her life with laughter and joy.
She is survived by her daughters, Beth Hughes and spouse Jim of Martinsburg, WV; Virginia Snodgrass and spouse Jeffrey of Silver Spring, MD; and Amanda Colie and spouse Dayton of Charleston, SC. She also leaves behind her sister, Carolyn Teague of Fayetteville, NC; brothers, George Walters of Elizabeth City, NC, and David Walters of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Amy and Nathaniel Hughes; Dipper and Henry Snodgrass; Maggie and Kennedy Colie; along with many nephews and nieces. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillie Walters, and her sister, Patricia Weaver.
A service to celebrate Ann's life will be held at 1:00 pm on October 12 at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. in Laurel, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ann's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, honoring her compassionate spirit.
