Anthony Parrucci

Anthony Parrucci, age 85, passed away at his home in Laurel on Thursday, September 20, 2012. Mr. Parrucci was born in the Richmond Hill neighborhood in New York.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served as an Armed Guard in the Pacific Theater. After being Honorably Discharged from the Navy Mr. Parrucci moved to the Washington, DC area and started his career as an officer with the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia. Mr. Parrucci retired from the police department as a Lt. in 1975 and started his second career as a Security Investigator for the Prince George's County School System spending the majority of his years at Laurel High School retiring for the second time after 20 years in the school system.

Mr. Parrucci was involved in several organizations and clubs including The Sons of Italy, Elks Lodge and Association of Retired Police Officers. He was also a member of St, Mary of the Mills Catholic Church in Laurel, Maryland.

Mr. Parrucci was the Beloved husband of the late Lillie Mae Parrucci. Devoted father of Samuel Parrucci and his wife Susan, Tony Parrucci and his wife Donna, Bobby Parrucci, Virginia Novak and her husband Richard, Patricia Santoro and her husband Attilio, Greg Parrucci and his wife Patty, Pam Meadows and her husband Roy, Michael Parrucci, Teresa Parrucci Collins and the late Steven Collins and Timothy Parrucci; brother of Ann Maurer and Robert Parrucci. Also survived by 20 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Parrucci was preceded in death by his parents Croce and Catherine Parrucci and two brothers, Andrew and Gilbert Parrucci.

A visitation will be held on Monday, September 24, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the DONALDSON FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Maryland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church, 114 St. Mary's Place, Laurel, MD beginning at 10:30 AM Interment will follow at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery.
