Arlene Mae (Drabbant) Warzel

Arlene Mae (Drabbant) Warzel, 78, of Laurel, MD, passed away on May 23, 2023, at home after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Johnstown, PA, on May 15, 1945, to the late John and Mary (Monyak) Drabbant.

Arlene was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, with a gentle and kind soul.  She will be profoundly missed by all.

Arlene attended Vintondale High School, and worked for the Federal Government at NSA for most of her career, until her retirement. She was a devout Catholic and was a member St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church in Laurel, MD.

She enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World, where she and her husband Ed shared many wonderful memories with their daughter, Lisa. This was their "happy place." She was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins fan and attended many games with Ed and Lisa.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lisa; brothers George, John (Jack), and Bill; and in-laws Robert Frank (Shirley), and  Virginia Drabbant (Robert).

Arlene is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ed Warzel; brother Robert Drabbant of Felton, DE; sister Shirley (Drabbant) Frank of Henrico, VA; and nieces Pam (Garrett) Miller; Kathy (Sean) Vogt; Jackie (Dennis) Bencosky; and nephews Bob (Mariani) Drabbant; Randy (Stephanie) Frank; Rory (Stefanie) Frank; Ryan Frank; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial Mass will be held at Saint Mary of the Mills Catholic Church on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 10:30 am with Inurnment to follow at the columbarium at St Mary's Cemetery
