Arthur Churchill Colburn

Arthur C. Colburn, age 85, of Highland, MD, died Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Arthur was born on June 12, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Arthur L. Colburn and the late Myrl (Churchill) Colburn. He moved to Highland, MD in 1983.

Arthur Colburn taught Industrial Arts at Martin Luther King, Jr. Junior High School in Beltsville, Maryland and Metal Shop at Bladensburg Junior High School, in Bladensburg, Maryland. He retired from teaching in 1988. He also had a remodeling company with his son, David Colburn, called, Colburn and Son, for many years, working on the weekends, holidays, and summers. He was active at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Highland, especially in the choir. Arthur enjoyed singing in the choir and giving solo concerts..

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Colleen U. Colburn. He is survived by his three children; Beverly Kramer (and her husband, Rev. Dale Kramer) of Jonestown, PA, David Colburn (and his wife, Dr. Marion Colburn) of Shadyside, MD, and Yvonne Foreman (and her husband, Timothy Foreman) of Harlingen, TX.  Arthur was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 30 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707 and again on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 12430 Scaggsville Road (Rt. 216), Highland, MD 20777 beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until the service begins at 11:00 AM.
