Arthur James Moeller, age 86, of Laurel, MD, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. Arthur was born on May 19, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Andrew Moeller and the late Anna (nee Stioff) Moeller.
Arthur was raised in Pittsburgh and remained there until being drafted in 1946. Arthur was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1947, but re-enlisted less than a year later. The Army sent him to the Philippines and Japan. Arthur received his 2nd honorable discharge in 1952 and went to work for the National Security Agency. Arthur stayed at NSA until retiring in 1986. After retiring form NSA, Arthur enjoyed genealogy, working in his garden and wrote a novel which the family is working on getting published.
Arthur moved to Laurel in 1958 and became a member of St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church that same year.
Arthur married Marge, his wife of over 60 years on June 6, 1953. Arthur and Marge had 4 children; Virginia (her husband Wayne) Miller of Fredricksburg, VA, Mary-Anne (her husband Todd) Penner of Laurel, MD, Andrea Jenkins (her husband Larry) of Laurel, MD and the late Stephen Moeller. Arthur is also survived by his two grandchildren, Jay Penner and Chelsea Elston.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will Celebrated at St. Mary of The Mills Roman Catholic Church 114 St. Mary's Place Laurel, MD beginning at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 25, 2013.
