Barbara May King, a longtime resident of Laurel, passed away on May 23, 2016 at Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was 77. She was born on July 7, 1938 to the late Andrew and Inez (Smitson) Stevens. She was a graduate of Laurel High School and a member of the Eastern Star. She worked as a secretary at Westinghouse and retired in 1998 after 40 years of service. After retirement, Barbara enjoyed ceramics and helping her cousin Norma at her salon, Hair Talk.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Clifford Stevens. Barbara is survived by her loving son Robin King and his wife Rosetta; nephews Clifford Stevens, Jr., Victor Stevens, and Chris Chaney; niece Pam Chaney; step-grandchildren Katrina and Chris Washington; step-great-grandchildren Elijah Hazzard, Kamari Dorsey, and Storm Washington; and a host of close relatives and friends.
