Bernard Wayne Pierce, age 58, passed away on February 5, 2015 at Laurel Regional Hospital in Laurel, MD.

Bernie was born on May 24, 1956 to the late James Wayne Pierce and the late Glenda Kearns Pierce.  Bernie was born and raised in Laurel and graduated from Laurel High School in 1974.  After graduating high school Bernie went on work as a Dairyman at the Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers facility in North Laurel for over 30 years before retiring in 2006.  When Bernie’s children were younger he served as Assistant Scout Master to Boy Scout Troop 1021 in Laurel, the same troop that was in as a child.

Mr. Pierce is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Anita Pierce, his two sons; David Pierce (and his significant other Megan) and Daniel Pierce-Woodward (and his significant other William).  Bernie is also survived by his two brothers, Art and Charlie.  Bernie was also know by many others as “Dad” and will be missed by his cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, Maryland on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and again on Saturday, February 14, 2015 beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until the service begins at 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.
