Bessie Park

Bessie Irene Park, age 90, a long time resident of the Scaggsville area of Laurel passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018.  She was born on December 4, 1927 in Howard County, MD.

Bessie worked at Ft. Meade in the military gun shop, assisting with the cleaning and maintaining of the guns.

Bessie enjoyed music and played the guitar and sang.  She also enjoyed playing Bingo.

Bessie was the daughter of the late Ethel Viola (nee Miles) Park and the lateRoland H. Park from Laurel, MD.  She is also survived by her sister, Elsie Lyons.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018 beginning at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Mt.Zion Untited Methodist Church Cemetery in Highland, MD.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Holy Cross Home Care/Hospice , 10720 Columbia Pike, 2nd Floor, Silver Spring, MD 20901-4437.
