Betty Lou Beaudin, beloved wife, mother, Meme, and faithful servant of Jesus Christ, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, where she now rejoices in the eternal promises of the One she faithfully loved and served throughout her life.
Born on August 31, 1945, Betty Lou was the youngest of eight children born to Theodore and Helen Merson (née Johnson). She grew up on "The Boulevard" in Laurel, Maryland, where she enjoyed a happy childhood surrounded by family, friends, and community. A graduate of Laurel High School, Betty Lou especially loved attending school dances, laughing with friends, and dancing the jitterbug.
For 59 wonderful years, Betty Lou shared a loving marriage with her husband, David. Together they built a home firmly rooted in God's Word, raising their family in the fear and admonition of the Lord Jesus Christ. Betty Lou and David were longtime members of First Baptist Church of Laurel, where they faithfully raised their daughters in the knowledge and love of God. In later years, Betty Lou became a member of First Baptist Church of Savage, where she continued to worship and fellowship alongside her church family while maintaining a deep love for and lasting friendships with many of her brothers and sisters in Christ at First Baptist Church of Laurel.
Betty Lou found her greatest joy in her family. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Jennifer (Rick) and Tricia (Alan), and a proud and loving Meme to Alexandra (Nick), Sam, Matthew, John, Lydia (Cristian), and Abigail. Affectionately known by her grandchildren as "Meme" or "Memers," she treasured moments spent with them. Whether celebrating life's milestones, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time together, she delighted in each of them and considered her grandchildren among God's greatest earthly blessings. She also had a special affection for her beloved pets, who gave her companionship and comfort throughout the years.
Above all else, Betty Lou's deepest joy was her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith was not simply something she professed—it was the foundation upon which she lived her life. Going about the routines of everyday life, Betty Lou could often be heard singing the great hymns of the Christian faith. Those hymns became the soundtrack of her daughters' childhood, filling their home with the truths of Scripture and the hope of the Gospel.
Betty Lou's faith sustained her through every season of life and gave her unwavering hope in the promises of God. She looked forward with confidence to the day she would see her Savior face to face, and now that glorious day has come. She has also been joyfully reunited with her infant sons, Paul David and Keith Aaron, whom she lovingly carried in her heart throughout her life.
Until the day God calls her family home, Betty Lou leaves behind her beloved husband of 59 years, David; her daughters, Jennifer (Rick) and Tricia (Alan); her cherished grandchildren, Alexandra (Nick), Sam, Matthew, John, Lydia (Cristian), and Abigail; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and brothers and sisters.
Though her family grieves her absence, they do not grieve without hope. They rejoice in the assurance that Betty Lou is now in the presence of her Savior, hearing the words she longed to hear: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Her legacy of steadfast faith, joyful
worship, unconditional love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to Christ will continue to echo through the generations until that glorious day when her family is reunited with her in the presence of the Lord.
