Brenda Lee Laing

Brenda Lee Laing, age 63, of Savage, MD, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Howard County General Hospital in Columbia, MD.

Brenda was born on June 1, 1950 in Washington, DC to the late James Frick and the late Lois (nee Jones) Frick. She was raised in the Oxon Hill and Suitland, Maryland areas. Brenda graduated from Suitland High School in 1968. Brenda moved to Savage, Maryland in 1971 after her marriage to the late Robert "Bobby" Laing, Sr. who passed away in 2009.

Brenda worked as a postal carrier for the United States Post Office in Savage, Maryland for approximately 20 years before retiring in 2005 due to health concerns. She was also an active member of the 1st Baptist of Beltsville.

Brenda is survived by her sons; Robbie Laing, Jr. and his wife Shelly of Laurel, Maryland and Jimmy Laing and his wife Crystal of Savage, Maryland. She is also survived by her five grandchildren; Cody, Brandon, Nicholas, Solan and Mikey Laing as well as a sister, Carol Godin of Deltona, Florida. Brenda was preceded in death by her sister Renie Blankenship.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel, MD 20707. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 5 starting at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Emmanuel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Laurel, MD.
