Brian Hohl

Brian Mathew Hohl, 34, passed suddenly in his home in Laurel, Maryland on January 18, 2016.

Brian was born at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland on April 16, 1981 and was the oldest child of Gregory Lewis Hohl and Cathy Ann (n. Barger) Hohl of Laurel, Maryland.

Brian grew up in Laurel and graduated in 1999 from Laurel High School. He worked as a skilled carpenter for GLB Construction for many years. Brian had a natural talent for the profession and truly enjoyed his work, which brought him to numerous projects in Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC, among other locations in the Greater DC Metropolitan. He loved hunting, playing Spades, fishing, camping, trips to the beach and watching The Simpsons and Family Guy for hours. He was always proud of his large DVD movie collection, and had a wide taste in music, with oldies being one of his favorites.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Lewis Hohl, his paternal grandparents Donald Graef and Dorothy Ann (nee Vesley) Hohl, his maternal grandfather, Golden “Jobie” Barger.

He is survived by his loving mother, Cathy (n. Barger) Hohl, his siblings, Timothy Lee Hohl and Carrie Ann Hohl, his maternal grandmother, Patricia Ann (n. Morris) Barger, uncles and aunts, Greg and Barbara Barger, James and Cathy Barger, David and Liz Barger, Eric and Chris Hohl, Scott and Pam Hohl, Dianne Pfeiffer, Bob Pfeiffer, Ray and Sherry Hohl, Janice Hohl, nephew Alec Hohl, Goddaughter Alicia Marie Miller and many loving cousins, extended family members and friends.

Throughout the years, Brian remained close with a tight-knit group of friends from childhood, including his cousin, Justin Barger, and friends James Miller, Doug Kidwell, Adam Dearstine and their families.

Services to remember Brian will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2016 at Donaldson Funeral Home located at 313 Talbott Ave (Route 198 W), Laurel, MD 20707. The viewing will take place from 12-2 pm, with the service beginning at 2pm.

Brian is deeply missed by all who loved him. May he rest in peace in Heaven with his loving father, grandparents and our Lord.
