It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and son Brian Anders Markley.  Brian passed away peacefully on Friday August 30,2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Brian was known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor. He could always be counted on to make everyone in the room laugh, even in the toughest of times. His joy and positivity were contagious, and he brought light and laughter wherever he went.

In addition to his humor, Brian was a deeply religious man. He had strong faith in God and found comfort and solace in his beliefs. Brian was a dedicated member of Cedar Ridge Community Church, where he served as Music Director and volunteered working on the farm.  For many years he was also a faithful member of The Laurel Church of Christ, where he also shared his musical talents. His faith guided him throughout his life, and he was a shining example of love, compassion, and kindness to all who knew him.

The Son of the late Charles and Henrietta Markley Brian was born in Pittsburgh PA. He is one of seven children:  Charley Markley Jr, Jon Markley {deceased}, Patricia Markley, Barbara Mistishen, Donald Markley and David Markley.  Brian attended West Point for a year and graduated from Washington and Lee University, majoring in Math.  He served in the Army for 6 years.

Brian will be dearly missed by his wife of 42 years, Diane Harris Markley, his children Chris, Tony {Theresa Markley}, and Matthew Markley, his grandchildren. Dylan and Hailey.

Brian was a devoted employee of The Neurology Center where he supervised the Clinical lab and IT for 42 years. Besides his career, he enjoyed writing and performing music and was a member of Stoney Run  and Charm City Limits Bluegrass bands.  Notably, Brian and another member from Charm City, performed at an engagement party at the home of United State Senator.  Dianne Feinstein
