Carl Lee Moravitz, 77, passed away in Laurel, MD, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

Born in 1945 in Arlington, VA, Carl was the son of Edward and Cecile Moravitz. He lived in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and worked for the federal government until his retirement.

Carl was a member of the United Methodist Church and served in several churches in the Northern Virginia and Maryland area. He also occupied leadership positions in the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Carl is survived by his wife Delila and their three grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla.

Services for Carl are scheduled for Monday, January 2, 2023, at Mt. Zion UMC (12430 Scaggsville Road, Highland, MD 20777). Visitation will be from 9-11am, and the Celebration of Life Service will be from 11am-12pm. Immediately after the service, a luncheon to honor Carl's memory will be held at Emmanuel UMC (10755 Scaggsville Road, Laurel, MD  20723). The burial will be on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at National Memorial Park (7482 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22042), at 2 p.m..
